Carnival
de Cadiz (begins 24 February 2009):
El Carnaval is mainland Spain’s largest carnival celebration,
from Shrove Tuesday and lasting a week. Cadiz’s Carnaval
is the best, with competitions for humorous, satirical choirs
culminating in a grand parade through the streets, which everyone
(including visitors) in fancy dress.
Flamenco Festivál de Jerez (begins 27 February):
This two week festival is one of the most important Flamenco
festivals with all the top artistes and companies perform
and during the festival and the whole town given over to Flamenco.

and operas, dance shows and top sporting events to see during
